Community Activities
Breast Cancer Research
Mercury Bay Holiday Park is proud to be associated with the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust in conjunction with Holiday Parks Association of New Zealand in the “The Holiday Parks Challenge” to raise $1,000 towards finding a cure by 2018. This spring and summer we will ask for your support to achieve our goal. You can do this by:
- donating online,
- drop some coins in the office bucket,
- participate in the fundraising activities which occur in the Park.
Kan Tabs Project – Kidney Kids
The Park recycles thousands of kilos of bottles and aluminimum cans. Many of those bottles have aluminium tops which we collect for recycling to raise funds for the Kidney Kids Support Group. We have collection points in our communal kitchens for this to happen.

Community Patrol
The Park’s management team support Whitianga’s Community Patrol. A community patrol is a voluntary group of people giving some of their time and taking responsibility within their own community to help the Police make their community a safer environment in which to live. Community patrollers act as ‘eyes and ears’ for police. Patrolling their community in pairs, patrollers note anything that could be suspicious and inform police immediately of incidents requiring urgent attention.
